Frequently Asked Questions

1)
Q: Will the location of my data move?
A: All customer data will remain within the European Union.

2)
Q: What happens if I don’t make this change?
A: You will no longer be able to send or receive your current invoice or purchase order payloads from Tungsten Network.

3)
Q: Will my login details change?
A: No, all usernames and passwords will remain the same.

4)
Q: Can I connect using the supplied IP address?
A: No, customers must connect via the ft.tungsten-network.com DNS name to ensure the highest level of availability for this service.

5)
Q: Why do I have to whitelist your IPs?
A: For security reasons, many IT departments require any external access to your internal systems to be limited to specific IP addresses. Please discuss this with your IT security team if you are unsure.

6)
Q: Why hasn’t Tungsten Network provided a detailed step guide to making this change?
A: Tungsten Network is unable to provide detailed steps due to the wide variety of SFTP systems used by organisations. If required, please contact the technical department that maintains your platform.

7)
Q: Why do I see a different server address when doing a Ping request on ft.tungsten-network.com?
A: The response you see is the long, fully qualified server name, which is impractical to use. Therefore, we simplify this by asking people to use the shortened ft.tungsten-network.com address.

8)
Q: When I do a Ping, why do the IP addresses sometimes change?
A: Connections to Tungsten Network use load balancers across multiple servers to ensure that we deliver the best service possible. This means our platform can respond to a Ping from two different IP addresses.

9)
Q: Why are your inbound and outbound IP addresses different?
A: By design, our platform utilises different routes for inbound and outbound traffic, creating the need for different IP addresses.
